Pearlie of Great Price is a memoir of author Hilary Hart's journey with her dying dog Pearlie into the mysteries of love, life and the feminine dimension of God. Turned away from her Sufi teacher after six years by his side, Hilary was told to surrender to the unlikeliest of teachers a oneeyed, stubborn, scragglyhaired terrier mutt who was dying of cancer. A living metaphor for all that our patriarchal culture and spiritual collective disdains, this simple and mysterious dog ultimately leads Hilary through the darkness of her prejudices and desires into the magnificence of God alive in her own being and all creation.
