Cunningham tells his family's history from his grandfather's arrival in Dakota in the early 1880's to his own experience as an Agent/Telegrapher with the Northern Pacific Railroad for twentyone years in towns throughout North Dakota. Born in LaMoure County and raised during the Great Depression. Cunningham went off to the navy and came home to marry a North Dakota girl with whom he raised his family in North Dakota's heartland.
