La preocupacin acerca del desarrollo de habilidades de pensamiento crtico de los estudiantes ha aumentado entre los investigadores y los educadores; en el proceso de enseanza, aprendizaje y en el trabajo cotidiano de aula es evidente que los estudiantes no demuestran o no desarrollan totalmente sus habilidades cognitivas y por esto sus procesos de aprendizaje y de solucin a situaciones problema se han visto afectados. Una manera de solucionar en parte dicho problema, es el diseo e implementacin de un programa de intervencin cognitiva que desarrolle en los estudiantes pensamiento crtico dentro del currculo de ciencias, en particular de la qumica orgnica que es lo que se ilustrar en este texto. Por esta razn este trabajo se presenta como gua para disear y aplicar programas de intervencin cognitiva en el contexto de la enseanza de la qumica, la Biologa y la Fsica; que promuevan el desarrollo del pensamiento crtico en estudiantes de educacin secundaria, adems de apoyar los procesos de educabilidad, que se adelantan en las instituciones educativas.
