This book presents the results of a study on perceived occupational stress amongst female nurses working in a general hospital in the Eastern Cape Province. The central aim of the study was to understand if and how nurses perceived and experienced work related stress in the hospital. A sample of convenience was used consisting of six voluntary registered female nurses with ages ranging from 29 and 50 years. Semistructured, indepth individual interviews were conducted with the six participants, with data analyzed for thematic content. Main themes and subthemes within the main themes were identified and discussed. Based on the findings of this study, recommendations for future research are offered.
