Las personas con parlisis cerebral comparten la presencia de afectacin motora no progresiva secundaria a lesiones del cerebro producidas en los primeros estadios de su desarrollo. Las alteraciones motoras no siempre se acompaan de alteraciones cognitivas de igual gravedad. Sin embargo, la afectacin motriz puede dificultar el acceso de los profesionales a la capacidad cognitiva del paciente y limitar su intervencin. En este trabajo de tesis doctoral defendida en 2001 se describe el rendimiento cognitivo de las personas con parlisis cerebral espstica y discintica bilateral y se analiza la existencia de datos clnicos relacionados con el estado cognitivo. Adems, dada la extensa e integrada revisin de la literatura es un excelente documento en lengua castellana para que familiares o estudiantes del mbito de la salud se inicien en el conocimiento de la parlisis cerebral y especialmente en sus aspectos neuropsicolgicos. El lector obtendr la base necesaria para posteriormente poder adentrarse en la literatura cientfica actual.
