The dry stone structures that are the subject of this book are located in the Mandara mountains of the Extreme North province of Cameroon and are known to the Mafa who live among them as diygeobay, best glossed as ruins of chiefly residence. This studyu presents excavation reports from two such "DGB" sites, as well as a summary of evidence from the other identified sites, and a typology. The discussion centres on the means by which they were constructed, and the effect their construction had on social organization.
