Welcome to the second edition of Perspectives and Open Access Anthropology! We are delighted to bring to you this novel textbook, a collection of chapters on the essential topics in cultural anthropology. Different from other introductory textbooks, this book is an edited volume with each chapter written by a different author. Each author has written from their experiences working as an anthropologist and that personal touch makes for an accessible introduction to cultural anthropology. An electronic version of this textbook is available free of charge at the Society for Anthropology in Community Colleges webpage here: http: //perspectives.americananthro.org/

This product may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer,

While I enjoyed the themes presented in this book, I felt some chapters were a bit too surface-level. It’s a decent introduction to cultural anthropology, but I hoped for more in-depth analysis. Still worth a read, especially for beginners.

Great Resource for Anthropology Students
I bought this for my anthropology class, and it’s been a fantastic resource. The writing is accessible and the concepts are clearly explained. However, I do wish the book included more case studies for a richer understanding.

Not What I Expected
I was really excited for this book, but it didn’t meet my expectations. Some sections felt disorganized and difficult to follow. I think it could use more editing to improve clarity. Disappointed overall, but some parts were interesting.
