Parmi ses oeuvres les plus rputes, il faut citer : 'Le Petit Chose' (1868), 'Lettres de mon moulin' (1869), 'Tartarin de Tarascon' (1872), 'Les contes du lundi' (1873). Alphonse Daudet est mort Paris en 1897.
