Jahrzehntelang galt das deutsche Institutionengefge als vorbildlich. Anfang der 90er Jahre begann das scheinbar perfekte Modell zu brckeln. Von Interesse sind nun sowohl Kenntnisse ber die Faktoren welche dazu fhrten, als auch die Reaktion des Modells. In dieser Ausarbeitung zeige ich, dass das deutsche Modell vor grundlegenden Herausforderungen steht. Der sich vollziehende Wandel folgt jedoch einem pfadabhngigen Muster. Dies wird anhand der Strategie der diversifizierten Qualittsproduktion aufgezeigt. Inkrementelle Vernderungen fhren jedoch nicht zur Abkehr der jahrzehntelang erfolgreich betriebenen Qualittsproduktion. Mit Hilfe der Theorie der Pfadabhngigkeit kann man die historisch bedingte Vielfalt nationaler Institutionen erklren. Ausgehend von Streecks Circulus Virtuosus wird dargestellt, auf welchen Bestandteilen die als deutsche Vorzeigeproduktionsstruktur" geltende diversifizierte Qualittsproduktion beruht. Im anschlieenden Abschnitt sollen wesentliche Faktoren herausgearbeitet werden, welche auf die Bestandteile des Circulus Virtuosus einwirken und zu Vernderungen fhren.
