De la source dnergie exploite jusqu la consommation de llectricit il existe tout un rseau de transport constitu de pylnes, disolateurs et de lignes de transmission. Or, ces rseaux, lorsquils sont situs dans les rgions climat froid, se trouvent parfois exposs aux problmes lis au givrage atmosphrique. En effet, une couche de glace peut saccumuler sur les isolateurs. Lorsque cette couche fond en surface suite au rayonnement du soleil par exemple, une redistribution du champ lectrique le long de lisolateur peut entraner lapparition darcs lectriques partiels, voir mme un contournement lectrique de lisolateur des niveaux de tension beaucoup plus faible quen absence de glace. Lobjectif de ce projet de recherche porte sur ltude des phnomnes lectriques se produisant la surface dune couche de glace en prsence dun arc lectrique. Plusieurs phnomnes lectriques ont t observs : la priode de dcharge lectrique ; la priode o lchantillon de glace a un comportement rsistif ; et la priode o lchantillon de glace semble tre en rsonnance avec larc lectrique.
