This collection provides a broad overview of current research and discoveries in photonic and optoelectronic polymers. It looks at their promising applications, particularly in efficient, reliable, and lowcost technologies for storing, processing, transmitting, and displaying information. Among the main topics covered are polymers for digital and holographic information storage; electroluminescent polymers for light sources; highspeed transmission, highpower amplification, and highspeed modulation of optical signals in polymer waveguides and gradientindex fibers; selfassembly and nanostructure control for efficient photoelectronic and photonic properties; and thinfilm transistors from organic semiconductors.

I attended the ACS symposium and found this series really helpful. The breakdown of photonic and optoelectronic polymers is thorough and insightful. I’m using it for my research paper, and it’s been a great reference point for understanding the latest advancements.

Valuable but a bit dense
This symposium series has some fantastic information on photonic and optoelectronic polymers, but the technical jargon can be overwhelming. I appreciate the depth of research, just wish there were more simplified sections for those new to the field.

Came damaged, frustrating experience
My copy of the symposium series arrived with some pages bent and torn, which was disappointing considering the price. The content looks great, but I’m a bit annoyed with the packaging. I’ll have to get a replacement.

Perfect for my grad studies
This ACS symposium series is a must-have for anyone diving into the world of photonic polymers. The information is current and comprehensive. I found the section on optoelectronic applications particularly useful for my thesis work. Highly recommend for grad students!

Informative but not what I expected
I thought this would cover more practical applications of the polymers. It’s very academic and detailed, which is great if that’s what you’re after, but I was hoping for more examples of real-world usage. It’s still a solid series though.
