Parmi les grands cinastes franais, Franois Truffaut fut sans doute lun de ceux qui a le plus crit sur le cinma : dabord comme critique et polmiste virulent dans les annes 50, puis, aprs son passage la mise en scne, comme essayiste, toujours prt prfacer les livres de ses amis ou revenir sur ses cinastes favoris. Cette activit dcrivain de cinma, Franois Truffaut a toujours eu plaisir la mener de pair avec celle de cinaste. Au dbut des annes 80, il avait le projet dun nouveau recueil darticles, qui constituerait le prolongement de son livre Les Films de ma vie, paru en 1975. Ce livre, Le plaisir des yeux, devait runir de nombreux articles recouvrant toutes les tapes de son cheminement : depuis ses articles critiques parus dans Arts et les Cahiers du cinma (dont le fameux Une certaine tendance du cinma franais, qui le rendit clbre ds 1954), jusqu des textes plus rcents qui sont le fruit de son exprience de cinaste, de courts essais o il rendait hommage des ralisateurs (Renoir, Hitchcock, Welles, Chaplin), des crivains (William Irish, PierreHenri Roch), et des comdiens avec qui il eut plaisir travailler (Catherine Deneuve, Isabelle Adjani, Fanny Ardant, JeanPierre Laud...). En suivant les notes de travail laisss par Franois Truffaut, Jean Narboni et Serge Toubiana ont runi en 1987 ces principaux textes rdits aujourdhui, qui refltent lintense activit dcriture dun vritable moraliste de cinma, dont le talent et la fcondit sont unanimement reconnus.

The No. 514 model looks great, but I found them a bit snug on my face. I love the color and style, but I wish they were a little more comfortable for long hours of use. Still a solid buy!
