Jos Bergamn (Madrid, 1897Fuenterraba, 1983) es, sin lugar a dudas, una de las figuras ms originales y fascinantes de la intelectualidad espaola del siglo XX. Es tambin, sin embargo, una figura compleja y contradictoria, desconcertante y escurridiza; un escritor de muchos quilates pero mal comprendido y, en comparacin con sus compaeros de generacin, poco ledo y estudiado. En la presente edicin se recogen todos los libros de poesa de Bergamn, desde los primeros que public despus de su vuelta a Espaa en 1958 Rimas y sonetos rezagados (1962) y Duendecitos y coplas (1963) hasta los ltimos que salieron a la luz pstumamente: Canto rodado y Hora ltima, ambos de 1984. En cambio, no se incluyen las numerosas poesas sueltas que el escritor public en revistas y peridicos a lo largo de su vida y se omite asimismo el importante conjunto de poemas inditos que dej a su muerte. Todos estos textos sueltos, muchos de ellos desconocidos hasta ahora, formarn un segundo tomo que complementar y completar ste que el lector tiene en sus manos.
