In dieser Arbeit werden die optischen Eigenschaften dnner nanostrukturierter Metallfilme untersucht. Die verwendeten Goldfilme weisen ein Lochmuster hnlich eines quadratischen Gitters mit einer Periodizitt zwischen 250 nm und 400 nm auf. Es zeigt sich, dass bei den verwendeten Filmen mit Schichtdicken kleiner als 20 nm die Transmission durch den an sich semitransparenten Goldfilm aufgrund der Anregung von Oberflchenplasmonen unterdrckt wird. Zudem zeigen die nanostrukturierten Filme eine starke rumliche Dispersion. Durch die Darstellung der gemessenen MllerMatrixElemente in Polarkoordinaten wird deutlich, dass die nanostrukturierten Goldfilme bei der Wechselwirkung mit Licht unter schrgem Einfall die verschiedenen Polarisationszustnde des einfallenden Lichts in einer komplexen Art und Weise mischen. Dieses ist ein Hinweis auf eine strukturabhngige Drehung des Polarisationszustandes und hat hnlichkeit mit optischer Aktivitt. Ursache fr die Polarisationsdrehung bei quadratischen Lochmustern ist die rumliche Dispersion, d. h. die fr hochsymmetrische Strukturen vorhergesagte quadratische Abhngigkeit der dielektrischen Funktion vom Wellenvektor.
