Se estandariz la tcnica LSSP (Reaccin en Cadena de la Polimerasa con un nico oligonucletido en condiciones de baja astringiencia), para identificar polimorfismos del gen cry1B en aislamientos nativos de Bacillus thuringiensis, para ser utilizados como alternativa para el control biolgico de plagas agrcolas en Colombia. Previamente, se evalu por PCR la presencia de los genes cry1 en 164 aislamientos nativos provenientes del Centro y Caribe Colombiano, identificndose este gen en el 43% de los aislamientos (70), y el gen cry1B en el 16% de estos (11). Estos 11 aislamientos fueron analizados por LSSPPCR para el gen cry1B y los patrones electroforticos obtenidos se compararon con los de la cepa de referencia, B. thuringiensis subsp. aizawai HD137. Se obtuvo el patrn de bandas ms divergente en el aislamiento nativo BtGC120, este fragmento se secuenci y esta lectura nucletidica se compar contra toda la base de datos del NCBI.
