El mrito que tiene Rawls consiste en su capacidad de elaborar una teora sistemtica de la justicia que parta de fundamentos ticos para desarrollar un liberalismo poltico de corte igualitarista, y en el tratar de interrelacionar el dilemtico impasse entre igualdad y libertad de la democracia.
