Als postautoritres und postkommunistisches Land besitzt Russland in diesem Kontext eine besondere Rolle. Nachdem Russlands Medienlandschaft Anfang der neunziger Jahre in betrchtlicher Weise privatisiert wurde, erfhrt dieses Land seit dem neuen Jahrtausend unter dieser Betrachtung eine Wiederverstaatlichung wichtiger Teile seiner Medien. Mit Hilfe der Firma Gazprom verstaatlicht Russland auf diese Weise groe und einflussreiche Medienkonzerne. Auf diese Weise kontrolliert der russische Staat die journalistische Berichterstattung, zumindest in finanzieller Hinsicht. Ob dieser Zustand lediglich auf Russland projizierbar ist oder ob noch andere Staaten hnlich agieren, soll mit dieser Seminararbeit untersucht werden. Des Weiteren mchte ich vergleichend mit anderen Lndern ber die Medienlandschaft Russlands berichten. In einem weiteren Schritt stelle ich die Verbindung zwischen Medien und Demokratie dar und untersuche, ob die Politik mit Hilfe der Medien auf die Gesellschaft Einfluss ausben kann.
