Doch unzweifelhaft fokussierte im Slogan 'Wir sind das Volk' ein machtvolles demokratisches Selbstbewutsein der demonstrie renden Brger der DDR. Doch schon die scheinbar gegenstzlichen Demon strationsrufe 'Wir wollen raus' und 'Wir bleiben hier' legten gewisse Span nungen zwischen nationalen und revolutionren Einstellungen offen. Diese wurden im Verlauf der erfolgreichen revolutionren Vernderungen erneut of fenbar, als nach der von der Brgerbewegung (noch) nicht erwarteten ffnung der Mauer die Formel 'Wir sind das Volk' durch den postulativen Ausruf 'Wir sind ein Volk' ergnzt und dann ersetzt wurde. Zur Einschtzung dieses Prozesses sind vielfiiltige rechte und linke Mythen entstanden, die von der historisch notwendigen Wiederherstellung der Einheit der deutschen Nation ber die Vollendung des alten deutschen VormrzTrau mes von der Verbindung von Demokratie, Menschenrechten und nationaler Einheit bis zur im, Anschlu' symbolisierten verratenen Revolution und dem verpaten dritten Weg basisdemokratischer sozialistischer Erneuerung rei chen.
