Damit knne das Internet zu einer Demokratisierung und Rationalisierung ffentlicher Diskurse beitragen. Diese Annahme wird anhand des Streits um Nutzen und Gefahren von Genfood mit quantitativen empirischen Mitteln im deutschsprachigen Raum untersucht. Neben einer konventionellen Inhaltsanalyse wird auch eine methodisch innovative Analyse von Hyperlinks und Webseiten durchgefhrt. Im Ergebnis zeigen sich nur relativ kleine Unterschiede zwischen Internet und Qualittszeitungen, sofern das Internet nicht von der Angebotsseite erschlossen wird, sondern aus der Perspektive derjenigen Nutzer, die Google als Suchmaschine heranziehen.
