Hier nimmt meiner Meinung nach vieles, vor allem was Frauen und Gleichberechtigungsfragen angeht, seinen Anfang. Ohne eine gravierende Vernderung unseres (Parteien) Systems werden die meisten politischen Karrieren ber die verschiedenen Ebenen fhren. Wer sich also in dieses System nicht einfgen will, wird wenig Chancen haben. Umgekehrt kann durch die Erhhung des Frauenanteils auf Gemeindeebene Druck auf Landes und Bundesebene ausgebt werden: Mit entsprechend gewichtigem Frauenanteil knnen Mandatarinnen auch nicht mehr ohne weiteres mit machtlosen Positionen abgespeist werden. Ein Einstieg in die Politik ist fr Frauen auf kommunaler Ebene am leichtesten zu bewerkstelligen. Meine Diplomarbeit soll aber nicht nur zeigen, was Frauen an politischer Partizipation hindert, sondern auch, wie es Frauen geht, die sich in die Gemeindepolitik einbringen. Welche Erfahrungen machen sie? Welche Aufgaben bernehmen sie? Wie lsst sich das politische Engagement mit ihrem beruflichen und familiren Umfeld kombinieren? Wenn Frauen ein Mandat bekommen, ist deshalb das Ziel der gleichberechtigten Partizipation noch lange nicht erreicht. Gerade dann heit es fr sie, sich auf die Hinterbeine zu stellen", wenn sie sich nicht mit machtlosen" Ressorts wie Kultur und Soziales herumschlagen wollen. Gerade auf kommunaler Ebene werden Politikerinnen oft mit Arbeit eingedeckt, die ihre mnnlichen Kollegen einfach nicht freut. Gleichberechtigte politische Partizipation kann eben nicht allein mit Zahlen gemessen werden. Hinzu kommen noch die viel schlechteren Bedingungen,
