Los Lineamientos y Polticas para la Permanencia de los Estudiantes con Discapacidad generados en esta investigacin asumieron el socioconstruccionismo como la va que permite a las personas describir e interpretar el mundo donde viven, tomando en cuenta el contexto donde se desenvuelven. Esta va propici un sentimiento de identidad personal y colectiva de cuyo intercambio social evolucionaron las ideas. Dada la naturaleza de la investigacin, la metodologa se enmarc en los supuestos del enfoque cualitativo, desde una perspectiva etnogrfica. Los protagonistas del estudio fueron seleccionados de manera intencional y estn representados por siete estudiantes en situacin de discapacidad, dos estudiantes sin discapacidad, tres profesores y un personal administrativo. Se seleccion el Mtodo Comparativo Continuo para la recoleccin, tabulacin e interpretacin de los datos; se utilizaron la entrevista en profundidad y el grupo focal para el intercambio de experiencias, vivencias y opiniones relacionadas con su estada en la universidad.
