Actualmente, el paradigma orientado a objetos (OO) est ampliamente aceptado; sin embargo, ensear a programar con esta orientacin no es fcil. Esto significa ensear a pensar en trminos de clases y objetos. Muchos profesores no comprenden este paradigma, y se enfocan en la sintaxis del lenguaje, lo cual dificulta el aprendizaje de los alumnos. Existen en el mercado productos que acercan a los alumnos al paradigma OO, pero es necesario que la labor docente sea dinmica; necesita apoyarse de herramientas como: pizarrones electrnicos y/o Tablet PC. En este trabajo se presenta una herramienta para utilizar pizarrones electrnicos, que apoya la enseanza de la programacin orientada a objetos mediante animacin de algoritmos (POOMA), y ayuda a comprender sus conceptos bsicos. Muestra una metodologa de desarrollo de programas en Java; y utiliza ejemplos animados como apoyo visual para comprender sus conceptos principales. Se ha empleado en cursos introductorios a la programacin en la UNAM.
