AkhileshS Stories Are Talkative. They Have A Wonderful Charm. They Talk To Their Readers Passionately, Embracing Them Like A Dearest Friend, Taking You Further And Further Along, And They Contain All The Kinds Of Conversations That Can Happen Between Two Friends. (One Might Even Call It Storytelling.) This Is Why, Despite Writing On Extremely Serious Subjects, AkhileshS Stories Never Lose Their Forced Seriousness. While Reading Them, A Smile Often Creeps Up On The Lips. Because ThereS No Intellectual Terror, A Deluge Of Information, Or Any Other Meaningless Entanglement That Leaves The Reader Stranded Somewhere Else. Another Speciality Of These Stories Is That They Not Only Talk To The Reader But Also Have Many Parallel Dialogues Going On Within Them. He Himself Keeps Talking To His Characters, Bringing Out The Turmoil Going On Within Them In His Akhilesh Style. What Is This Akhilesh Style? Its First Identity Is That He Does Not Pretend To Be Serious Without Any Reason, Rather His Stories Take His Readers Away From Imposed Seriousness. The Prose Of His Stories Is Not Cheerful In The Innocent Sense, But Is Playful, Mischievous And Yet Piercing.

The book from Pratinidhi is a good pick for introducing kids to Indian folklore. Some stories are a bit long for younger kids, but they enjoy the colorful illustrations. Overall, a nice collection!

Inspiring Stories for Kids!
I bought the 'Kahaniyan' book for my son's bedtime stories, and he absolutely loves it. The tales are full of moral lessons and the illustrations are bright and engaging. It's been a hit in our home!

Mixed Feelings About This One
While I liked the themes in 'Kahaniyan', I found a couple of the stories a bit repetitive. My daughter enjoyed it, but I wish there were more variety. Still, it’s decent for family reading time!
