Praying in the Spirit of Catherine McAuley A Collection of Prayers Written or Compiled by the Sisters of Mercy of the AmericasThroughout their history, the Sisters of Mercy have followed the Example of their founder, Catherine McAuley, by centering themselves in God and deepening their commitment to the work of mercy through the daily practice of personal and communal prayer. This book is an invitation to enter into the spirit of faith and compassion characteristic of prayers that Catherine prayed, some of which she composed, in their original forms. These same prayers are also presented in a form adapted to contemporary language and theolgical understanding. Prayers marking special events in the life of Mercy Community, particularly the death of a sister, are also included.
