El presente libro es producto de la investigacin titulada: Trabajo Social con familias en el campo sociojurdico: modalidades de intervencin tcnica, desarrollada en el marco del rea de Infancia y Familia del Departamento de Trabajo Social de la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad de la Repblica Uruguay. La investigacin fue evaluada y financiada por la Comisin Sectorial de Investigacin Cientfica en la Modalidad Sector Productivo. Es nuestro afn que el presente libro contribuya a procesos de reflexin colectivos sobre las polticas de estado con relacin a la infancia y la familia en clave de Derechos Humanos. Para ello debe tenerse en cuenta el nuevo panorama instalado desde la ratificacin de la Convencin Internacional sobre los Derechos del Nio a nivel internacional y la promulgacin del Nuevo Cdigo de la Niez y la Adolescencia en Uruguay. Estas nuevas expresiones legales, en tanto principios tico/jurdicos, deberan constituir un nuevo marco tanto para las polticas de proteccin social en este campo como para las modalidades de intervencin desarrolladas por las profesiones asistenciales involucradas.
