Excesivos niveles de vibracin sncrona e inestabilidades del rotor a velocidad subsncrona son los dos problemas ms comunes en rotodinmica. Los amortiguadores de pelcula delgada, mejor conocidos en el idioma ingls como Squeeze Film Dampers (SFDs) han sido desarrollados y empleados durante aos para suprimir o reducir estos problemas en turbomquinas de alto desempeo, tales como compresores, turbinas de gas y bombas de agua. Para lograr un mayor acercamiento al entendimiento de los SFDs se resuelve la ecuacin de Reynolds que ha mostrado resultados satisfactorios. Para validar los resultados obtenidos, estos se comparan con los resultados de trabajos anteriores. Cuantificar la ingestin de aire y su efecto en los SFDs de longitud finita es la aspiracin del presente trabajo. Los resultados son presentados como funcin de tres nmeros adimensionales que contemplan los parmetros de operacin del cojinete, por lo que los resultados son de aplicacin directa.
