En este texto se presentan los resultados de una investigacin que pretende establecer la relacin entre el rendimiento acadmico en Educacin Media y el rendimiento acadmico en la universidad , enfatizando en el aprovechamiento en Ciencias Naturales y Matemticas. La investigacin es de tipo descriptivo correlacional en la cual se consideraron como variables el rendimiento en Educacin Media, los Indicadores de Rendimiento y el Rendimiento Acadmico en la universidad, asumido en este estudio como Trayectoria Escolar. En el estudio participaron 106 egresadas del colegio El Divino Nio, de la ciudad de Santa Marta (Colombia), las cuales cursaban diferentes programas acadmicos en diversas universidades del pas. Los resultados permitieron establecer que hay una relacin estadsticamente positiva entre el rendimiento acadmico en Educacin Media y la trayectoria escolar en la universidad. Sin embargo, tambin logr establecerse que existe una relacin muy dbil entre el rendimiento en Ciencias y Matemticas en Educacin Media y los promedios de las asignaturas relacionadas con estas reas en la universidad.
