Kritiker sehen in ihr die Aushhlung des Gewaltverbots der UNCharta; der Generalsekretr der Vereinten Nationen verurteilt den prventiven Einsatz von Gewalt durch die USA als illegal und vlkerrechtswidrig. Im Mittelpunkt des Buches steht die durch den IrakKrieg des Jahres 2003 aufgeworfene Frage nach der Vereinbarkeit von BushDoktrin und Vlkerrecht. Dabei werden zunchst das Recht zur Selbstverteidigung geklrt und Mglichkeiten zum Umgang mit dem Phnomen des internationalen Terrorismus ausgelotet. Diesem vlkerrechtlichen Aspekt wird die BushDoktrin gegenbergestellt. Ausgehend vom Kampf gegen den Terrorismus wird die Nationale Sicherheitsstrategie analysiert. Von besonderer Relevanz sind dabei die neokonservativen auenpolitischen Konzeptionen, die der BushDoktrin zugrunde liegen, und die Erstfassung des Defense Planning Guidance 1992. Die militrischen Interventionen in Afghanistan und im Irak werden anschlieend als konkrete Fallstudien analysiert und vlkerrechtlich bewertet. About the Author Arthur R.
