Resilience is a worthwhile pursuit, both for individuals and communities. But how to build strength into our lives as citizens? And into our towns? According to author Scott James, the answer lies within our neighborhoods, where sustainability meets preparedness. Prepared Neighborhoods will walk you step by step through creating a more resilient and enjoyable neighborhood and community.Selfsufficiency for every citizen is not realistic nor desirable. Creating group resilience through urban homesteading and neighborhood preparedness projects is a much more attractive goal that leads to a stronger community and brighter future!

I recently picked up 'Creating Resilience One Street at a Time' by Prepared Neighborhoods for our local community planning meeting. It’s filled with practical advice and actionable steps that really opened my eyes to how we can improve our neighborhood’s resilience. The case studies included are particularly inspiring, showing real-life applications of the concepts discussed. Definitely worth reading!

Disappointing Format and Delivery
I was excited to read 'Creating Resilience One Street at a Time', but the delivery took way too long, and when it finally arrived, the book was damaged. The content looks promising, but I can’t get past the poor condition it showed up in. I guess I’d give it another shot if I can get a replacement, but this experience really soured me on it.

Good Insights, But Lacks Depth
'Creating Resilience One Street at a Time' has some great ideas on community resilience but I felt it skimmed over some topics too quickly. There were moments where I wanted more detailed strategies and examples. Still, it provided a useful framework for thinking about how to support my neighbors better. Just wish there was a bit more meat on the bones!
