In recent years, there has been a major paradigm shift in the provision of education for children with special educational needs (SEN) toward present preferred practice of inclusive education. The purpose of this research study was to examine the present situation of children with SEN in the mainstream kindergartens in a town (Sibu, Sarawak) in Malaysia. The research aimed to find out the barriers and current support systems in these kindergartens for implementing preschool inclusion. It also aimed to study the stances of parents and school personnel concerning children with SEN attending their kindergartens, their beliefs and practices, challenges they encountered, and their suggestions for solutions to these challenges. The book ended with some recommendations for improving current inclusion practice.
