Listeria sp es un patgeno transmitido al humano por alimentos contaminados, puede llegar a producir sintomatologa severa en mujeres embarazadas, recin nacidos y pacientes inmunodeprimidos. El microorganismo posee una gran capacidad para multiplicarse a bajas temperaturas y es resistente a condiciones adversas lo que la hace una gran amenaza para la salud pblica. Este trabajo determin la presencia de Listeria sp en derivados crnicos porcinos en plantas y expendios del departamento del Tolima. Se colectaron 235 muestras a partir de derivados crnicos, superficies de contacto, materia prima y materia fecal de operarios. Luego de un proceso de preenriquecimiento, enriquecimiento y aislamiento se realizo coloracin Gram y pruebas bioqumicas. Se encontr Listeria sp en 48 de las muestras analizadas (20.4%), con una mayor proporcin en productos procesados 5.8%, seguido de materia prima 3.8%, superficies 3.4% y utensilios 3%, sugiriendo contaminacin cruzada y desinfeccin deficiente. De otro lado, Listeria sp se encontr en 70.3% de los establecimientos de estudio.
