Financing of Public Sector Infrastructure has taken a new twist within the past two decades. Traditional modes of infrastructure procurement are gradually been replaced with the new model, the Private Finance Initiative, PFI. Developing Countries are however yet to tap into and utilise the PFI to help alleviate their infrastructure quagmires due to the structure of these economies which makes it unattractive to the private sector. By way of simulation of an educational infrastructure project to be procured through the Build Operate Transfer model of the PFI in a developing country, Ghana, this book has developed a strategy and a framework to surmount the structural economic features which has staggered the adoption and implementation of the PFI in these economies. Aimed at individuals and organisations involved in the procurement and financing of public sector infrastructure in developing countries, this book provides governments, policy makers, Project Managers and construction firms, students on PFI and Development Financing Courses with sound information on strategies to adopt when considering utilising PFIs in realising public sector infrastructure in developing countries.
