Predictive maintenance will be an essential feature of any communication outfit that will be successful in this competitive modern ubiquitous network. The solution lies in a technology called Predictive Condition Monitoring (PCM). Thus, this book described the use of Lightweight Agents for network elements status information collection, so that a proactive active maintenance can be scheduled on communication network. The use of LWAs was justified. A Fuzzy logic model was designed to analyze the status information of the network element. Based on the analysis, network maintenance can be scheduled.
