Cules son las actividades consistentes con el quehacer matemtico, para abordar y resolver los problemas geomtricos de variacin? Cmo se relacionan las estrategias heursticas con el uso de recursos matemticos en la resolucin de estos problemas? En qu formas contribuye el uso del software dinmico de geometra en las etapas de solucin de un problema? Estas son algunas preguntas relevantes en el estudio de problemas geomtricos de variacin, los cuales aparecen en el currculum de las facultades de matemticas y regularmente presentan dificultades para su aprendizaje. La incorporacin de software dinmico como el Cabri Gomtre, puede ayudar a los estudiantes a entender y resolver este tipo de problemas (Laborde y Laborde, 1995). En la geometra escolar, tenemos la oportunidad de involucrar a los estudiantes en la resolucin de problemas referentes a esta materia y planteados en diferentes contextos. La interaccin de los estudiantes con estos problemas, ya sea mediante lpiz y papel o con el uso de la tecnologa (computadora con software dinmico) puede contribuir a la evolucin de los ciclos de entendimiento de las nociones y conceptos involucrados (Lesh, et al. 2000).
