These Progressive Sight Reading Exercises by Hannah Smith will help pianists improve their sight reading skills. These exercises are not to be studied. Each is to be played through but once, in a tempo slow enough to enable the pupil to read without hesitation. It is presupposed that the technical training as well as the thorough study of good music proceeds regularly with the sight reading.

While the sight-reading exercises in this book are helpful, I found some of the instructions could be clearer. It’s a decent resource for practice but not the easiest to navigate at times. Still, I think it’ll be beneficial in the long run for my piano studies.

Disappointing quality for a guidebook
I expected more from this sight-reading guide. The exercises are not as engaging, and I was sad to find some pages had minor printing errors. It feels rushed, and I don’t think it’s worth the price. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re serious about improving your skills.
