Und so kommen die Kriege gegen die Vereinigten Staaten (18121814) um Jahre zu spt, und die Aufstnde der Creek (1814/14) und der Seminole (18161818) stellen nur noch ein letztes, verzweifeltes Aufbumen des indianischen Widerstandes dar. In der Folge des Vertrages von Greenville (1814) wird der Mississippi, wenn auch nur fr wenige Jahre, zur Westgrenze der Besiedlung Amerikas. Es folgen Jahre der schmerzvollen Zwangsumsiedlung von Indianerstmmen aus ihren angestammten Gebieten.
