En octobre 1932, C. G. Jung, invit au Club psychologique de Zrich, donna quatre confrences sur cette discipline exigeante et alors pratiquement inconnue. Alors que la psychologie de l'poque tait sous l'emprise grandissante de la psychanalyse, le yoga de la Kundalin allait offrir Jung un modle qui manquait totalement la psychologie occidentale : une description, partir de l'tude symbolique des chakras, des phases de dveloppement de la conscience suprieure.
