By using this intuitive and fun series, students can improvise in classical and popular styles with ease! From the first experience, Pattern Play introduces technique in an enjoyable way, including scales, modes, intervals, and chords, and helps to build an understanding of theory. An ideal complement to traditional piano study.Pattern Play offers students of all ages and levels an opportunity to create, explore, and enjoy making music. Four progressive volumes provide a sequential collection of the patterns from which music is made. By playing with these patterns, students will learn to improvise and compose music in a wide variety of styles, including classical, jazz, and popular! This intuitive approach to improvisation gives students a solid foundation in musicality and theory, making it an ideal complement to traditional piano study. Pattern Play 2 explores worldmusic, Medieval, classical, jazz, and blues styles, and introduces improvisation using modes and seventh chords. Students begin creating accompaniment patterns with intervals and triads.
