Sie hat insbesondere mglich gemacht, da Heinz Ulrich Brinkmann zwanzig Monate lang in Washington arbeiten konnte, zwanzig Monate, die mit groer Intensitt genutzt eine EUle wichtiger Erkenntnisse gebracht haben. Dafr soll der Stiftung auch an dieser Stelle noch einmal sehr aufrichtig Dank gesagt werden. Worum ging es und was ist am Ende bei dem Unternehmen herausgekommen? 'Public interest groups' es ist schwierig, diesen Begriff ins Deutsche zu bertra gen. Organisierte Gruppen, die nicht die Belange ihrer Mitglieder, sondern Belange der Allgemeinheit, der ffentlichkeit verfechten, dies aber nach Art und mit den Mit teln der Interessenverbnde, das ist gemeint. Solche Gruppen haben in den letzten zwanzig Jahren in den Vereinigten Staaten eine wichtige Rolle gespielt. Sie haben sich ihren Platz im politischen Leben erobert und werden ihn, bei allem Auf und Nieder, so rasch nicht wieder rumen.
