Welche Qualittskriterien sind Altenpflegeheimbewohnern und Angehrigen wichtig? Um diese Frage zu beantworten, bedient sich die Autorin eines qualitativen Forschungsansatzes: der Grounded Theory. Die Autorin kommt zu dem Ergebnis, dass es fr Bewohner das Wichtigste ist, dass sie nach Autonomie im Heim streben knnen. Angehrige hingegen stellen sich von Beginn an die Frage, welches Heim das richtige fr ihren Familienangehrigen ist. Diese Frage beschftigt sie auch dann noch, wenn der Bewohner bereits im Heim wohnt. Angehrige erkennen jedoch nicht, wie wichtig Bewohnern das Streben nach Autonomie ist. Bewohnern ist es im Gegensatz zu den Angehrigen egal, in welchem Heim sie leben, wenn sie ihrem Autonomiestreben nachgehen knnen. Heime knnen aus den Ergebnissen untersttzende und beratende Manahmen ableiten und somit das Leben von Bewohnern im Heim und deren Angehrigen erleichtern.
