Inzwischen sind Qualittsmanagementsysteme (QMSysteme) nach ISO 9001 in allen Branchen und Untemehmensgren anzutreffen und hufig die Basis von Qualittsvereinbarungen zwischen Kunden und Lieferanten. Auch fr kleinere Organisationen gilt ein zertifiziertes QMSystem mittlerweile oft als Voraussetzung fr Geschftsbeziehungen zu greren Kunden oder die Teilnahme an Ausschreibungen. Die Zertifizierung kann der erste Schritt in Richtung eines nachhaltigen, umfassenden QMSystems sein, das langfristig Marktvorteile bringt und die Existenz des Untemehmens sichert. Leider erfolgt die Einfhrung des QMSystems gerade in kleinen Organisationen oft nur halbherzig und ohne den notwendigen Vernderungswillen. Die Grnde dafr sind vielfltig. Fr eine umfassende Recherche und Projektplanung sind meist nicht gengend personelle Ressourcen verfgbar und fr professionelle Berater steht nur ein begrenztes Budget zur Verfgung. Nicht selten besteht deshalb Unsicherheit, wie die Forderungen der relevanten Normen umzusetzen und auf die eigene Organisation anzuwenden sind. Oft werden QMSysteme mit der Brechstangenmethode eingefhrt, was meist sogar zum begehrten Zertifikat, aber selten zu einer tatschlichen Qualittssteigerung fhrt. Hufig wird dann das auf dem Papier beschriebene System in der organisatorischen Praxis nicht oder nur teilweise gelebt.
