The increasing commercial use of millimeter wavelengths for remote sensing, communications, and radar systems has driven the need for new lowcost, high performance systems, and with it, the need for quasioptical systems.Combining a general introduction to Gaussian beams and quasioptical propagation with practical applications, QUASIOPTICAL SYSTEMS provides a stateoftheart treatment of the design of lowloss, broadband systems at microwave to submillimeter wavelegnths. the approach presented involved utilizing a beam with a Gaussian distribution of field strength perpendicular to its axis, which in turn propagates in a simple predictable fashion. Features include: A Convenient summary of Gaussian beam propagation formulas; Extensive coverage of presentday quasioptical components and their performance; Indepth coverage of dielectric material uses at millimeter and submillimeter wavelengths; An analysis of lenses and mirrors together with design techniques; and much more! This book will be of key interest to systems designers, antenna engineers, communications systems engineers, and researchers.

The Quasioptical Gaussian Beam book offers in-depth coverage of theoretical and practical applications. As someone working in the field, I appreciate the detailed derivations and examples. It’s a fantastic addition to my technical library and very insightful!

Great resource for advanced optics
I bought the Quasioptical Systems Gaussian Beam book for my graduate studies, and it’s been incredibly helpful. The explanations of quasioptical propagation are clear and well-illustrated. Definitely a must-have for serious optics students and professionals.

Not beginner friendly
While the content of the Quasioptical Systems book is thorough, it’s definitely not for beginners. I struggled to follow some sections and feel like it should have clearer explanations for people new to the subject. It’s a good reference once you know the basics, though.

Solid but slow shipping
The book itself is solid and covers a lot of ground on quasioptical applications. However, it took longer than expected to arrive. I ended up missing a few study sessions because of the delay. Still, I find the content valuable when I finally got it.
