Ces recommandations manent des gouvernements qui ont souscrit aux Principes directeurs et se sont ainsi engags les faire respecter, mme si elles n'ont pas un caractre contraignant. Ce rapport annuel dresse un tat des mesures prises entre juin 2009 et juin 2010 par les 42 gouvernements adhrents pour renforcer la contribution des Principes directeurs un meilleur fonctionnement de l'conomie mondiale. En dix ans, les Principes directeurs ont consolid leur statut qui en fait l'un des principaux instruments au monde en matire de responsabilit des entreprises. Cette dition porte sur les trois questions principales de rflexion pour la mise jour : les chanes d'approvisionnement, les droits de l'homme, et le changement climatique.
