Prsent dans toutes les expositions majeures, ds sa sortie de lcole nationale des arts dcoratifs en 1912 et jusquen 1960, membre fondateur de lUnion des artistes modernes en 1929, il participe dune avantgarde qui va bouleverser lhistoire des arts dcoratifs. Ses formes pures, ses lignes gomtriques, lutilisation de matires indites, comme largent laqu de noir, typiques du nouveau style Art dco sduisent immdiatement la critique et une clientle parisienne avertie et cultive. Amateur de sport, Templier dessine galement des trophes pour des comptitions de ski, de boxe, de golf et des affiches pour la Fdration nationale de tennis dont celles de RolandGarros. Cette premire monographie consacre Raymond Templier reproduit prs de 600 uvres, broches, bracelets, bagues, pendants, colliers, botes et tuis, qui figurent aujourdhui dans les plus grands muses du monde.
