The book the new film A Million Miles Away is based on.Born into a family of migrant workers, toiling in the fields by the age of six, Jose M. Hernndez dreamed of traveling through the night skies on a rocket ship. Reaching for the Stars is the inspiring story of how he realized that dream, becoming the first MexicanAmerican astronaut.Hernndez didnt speak English till he was 12, and his peers often joined gangs, or skipped school. And yet, by his twenties he was part of an elite team helping develop technology for the early detection of breast cancer. He was turned down by NASA eleven times on his long journey to donning that famous orange space suit.Hernndez message of hard work, education, perseverance, of reaching for the stars, makes this a classic American autobiography.

This book was a real eye-opener. Learning about the life of a migrant farmworker who became an astronaut is incredible. The storytelling is engaging, and it really makes you appreciate the hard work and determination behind such achievements.

Good Read, Some Slow Parts
I enjoyed the overall story, but there were a few sections that felt a bit drawn out. Still, the message of perseverance is powerful. I think it’s a great read for anyone interested in personal triumphs against the odds.

Disappointing Quality
I was excited to read this book but unfortunately it arrived with some pages damaged, which was a letdown. The story is inspiring, but I couldn’t enjoy it fully with the condition it came in. I hope the seller improves packaging in the future.
