The Third Edition of this README FIRST for a Users Guide to Qualitative Methods offers those new to qualitative inquiry a clear and practical handbook to doing qualitative research, the fit of questions to methods, and the tasks of getting started. In their direct and friendly style, Lyn Richards and Janice Morse help researchers reflect on why they are working qualitatively, choose an appropriate method, and confidently approach research design, data making, coding, analyzing and finally writing up their results.

This guide is super helpful for beginners in qualitative research. The explanations are clear and really make the concepts accessible. I'm using it for my grad school assignment, and it's just the right amount of detail without being overwhelming!

Not What I Expected
Honestly, I was disappointed with this guide. The content didn’t quite match what I needed for my research project, and some sections felt too vague. It might work for someone who's completely new, but I was hoping for more comprehensive insights.

Useful but Lacks Depth
I found the guide to be a decent starting point for qualitative methods, but I wished it dove deeper into certain topics. It covers the basics well, but I would recommend it for those just getting into research. It arrived a bit later than expected too, which was a bummer.
