Der Autor argumentiert, dass dies auch mit der Tatsache zusammenhngt, dass sich die Anstrengungen vornehmlich auf die Angebotsseite beschrnken. Doch solange eine Nachfrage nach Produktflschungen vorhanden ist, werden die Erfolgsaussichten der Vernichtungsaktionen und weiterer Massnahmen zur Reduktion des Angebotes an Produktflschungen als gering eingeschtzt. Diese Arbeit fordert, dass der potenzielle Konsument von Produktflschungen vermehrt ins Zentrum der Bemhungen der Wissenschaft, der Strafverfolgungsbehrden und der betroffenen Unternehmen gestellt wird. Dies weil ohne Nachfrage durch Konsumenten auch das Angebot an Produktflschungen zum erliegen kommen wrde. Zur Identifizierung der Grnde, wieso Konsumenten Produktflschungen erwerben, wird ein Modell erstellt. Dabei wird argumentiert, dass verschiedene Aspekte den Kaufentscheid des Verbrauchers beeinflussen. Es sind dies die Produkteigenschaften, das persnliche Wertesystem des Konsumenten sowie nicht beeinflussbare Umgebungsfaktoren. Der Verfasser kommt zum Schluss, dass eine vermehrte Nachfrageorientierung dazu beitragen kann, das Problem der Produktpiraterie einzudmmen.
