Halbwach nur werden die heruntergeladenen Texte zu berflogen, die pltzlich verschwinden und nur ein blinkender Cursor fhrt einen sich selbst eingebenden Text an. Der Computer spricht ... Diese Szene wirkt unglaublich und ist geprgt von einer der tiefsten Hoffnungen, aber auch ngste des modernen von Maschinen abhngigen Homo Sapiens, da Technologie sich verselbstndigt und nicht einmal der hastige und mehrmalige Druck auf die Escapetaste zur Wiederherstellung der Kontrolle fhrt. Hoffnungen deshalb, weil es seit Prometheus ein menschlicher Traum ist, Leben in Form von knstlicher Intelligenz zu erschaffen. Ein literarisches Vorbild in dieser Hinsicht ist Golem, das von Rabbi Lw geschaffene Monster, welches sich durch einen "Bedienungsfehler" verselbstndigt. Die Golemgeschichte zeigt im gleichen Atemzug natrlich auch das Problem des besagten Kontrollverlust, wobei dieses Beispiel nur eine Auswahl der Betrachtungen ist, die in den letzten zwanzig Jahren in Hollywood thematisiert wurden. Diese Arbeit soll sich mit der folgenden Auswahl allgemeiner Reflektionen ber die mit dem Internet und mit dem Cyberspace verbundenen, im folgenden aufgezhlten Themen beschftigen: Erstens soll die Darstellung der Wechselbeziehung MenschenMaschine in den sogenannten Cyberpunkfilmen geklrt werden. An zweiter Stelle folgt die Betrachtung des Motivs der virtuellen Realitt in unterschiedlichster Form. Weiterhin sollen Internetfilme in ihren verschiedensten Ausprgungen vorgestellt werden.
