Dieser Band faBt die Vortrage und Ergebnisse der wissenschaftlichen Ausstellung (postersession) zum Thema 'Regionalanaesthesie' zu sammen, die auf der 17. Gemeinsamen Tagung der Osterreichischen Gesellschaft fUr Anaesthesiologie, Reanimation und Intensivthera pie, der Schweizerischen Gesellschaft fUr Anaesthesiologie und Reanimation sowie der Deutschen Gesellschaft fUr Anaesthesiologie und Intensivmedizin Zentraleuropaischer Anaesthesiekongre yom 15. bis 19. September 1981 im Internationalen Congress Centrum (ICC) in Berlin gehalten wurden. Die Regionalanaesthesie hat in der letzten Dekade eine wich tige und bemerkenswerte Renaissance gehabt. Die vor vielen Jahren entwickelten Methoden wurden tiberprtift und unter Verwendung neuer Medikamente weiterentwickelt. Die Definition der speziellen Indikationen fur Risikopatienten macht Fortschritte. Urn dem interessierten Leser einen Vberblick tiber den aktuellen Stand der Forschung auf diesem Gebiet zu geben, haben wir des halb die auf dem KongreB aus organisatorischen Grunden verstreu ten Beitrage zu diesem Hauptthema zusammengefaBt. 1m einzelnen handelt es sich urn die Manuskripte der Vortrage des Panels E 16 'Regionalanaesthesie Aktuelle Probleme' (Moderator: H. Bergmann, Linz) sowie freie Vortrage aus den Ver anstaltungen 'Regionalanaesthesie I', G 1 (Vorsitz: K.H. Weis und J. WUst, DUsseldorf), G 8 (Vorsitz: W. Haider, Wien und P.M. Suter, Genf), G 14 (Vorsitz: P. Frey, ZUrich und F. Jesch, Mtinchen), 'Regionalanaesthesie II', G 15 (Vorsitz: E. Lanz, Mainz und G. Mitterschiffthaler, Innsbruck), G 18 (Vorsitz: R. Dennhardt, BerlinSteglitz und K.F. Rothe, Ttibingen) sowie der Postersession. Den Vorsitzenden sei an dieser Stelle noch einmal Dank gesagt fUr die straffe Leitung der Sitzungen und die lebhaften Diskussio nen nach den Vortragen.
