Weltweit betrachtet besitzen momentan, nach Angaben der Vereinten Nationen, mehr als 190 Millionen Menschen einen Wohnsitz welcher sich auerhalb ihres ursprnglichen Geburtslandes befindet (BMI 2008, 2). Dies entspricht ungefhr 3% der gesamten Weltbevlkerung (ZIMMERMANN/ HINTE 2005, 1). Derzeit leben ungefhr 7 Millionen auslndische Mitbrger in Deutschland, was einem prozentualen Anteil von mehr als 8%, in Bezug auf die Gesamtbevlkerung, entspricht (ZCAN 2007, 1). Zudem besitzen momentan ungefhr 30% aller Kinder und Jugendlichen innerhalb der Bundesrepublik einen Migrationshintergrund, was den Wandel zu einer multikulturellen Gesellschaft, was von Seiten der Politik oftmals bestritten wird, zunehmend beschleunigt. Anhand dieser Daten wird offensichtlich, dass eine zahlenmig so groe Menge an Zuwanderern einen Staat nicht ausschlielich bereichert und interne Problematiken lsen kann, sondern ihn ebenfalls vor groe Herausvorderungen stellt. Wenn viele Nationalitten innerhalb eines begrenzten Raumes aufeinander treffen und ohne groe Vorbereitungszeit gezwungen sind miteinander zu leben und zwischenmenschlich zu agieren, so kann dies nicht ohne Reibungen und einer mehr oder weniger langen Phase des Kennenlernens und gegenseitigen Verstehens ablaufen. Zu gro sind hufig die kulturellen und sprachlichen Barrieren, die Diskrepanz innerhalb der Tradition, Religion und des Lebensstils zwischen den verschiedenen Bevlkerungsgruppen.
